ABOUT LUKE

Luke Browning is one of the rising stars of the British motorsport scene having marked himself out as one to watch in an impressive racing career to date.

Like many aspiring racers, Luke took his first steps into motorsport at an early age in karting, before graduating into cars in 2016 with an entry into the Junior Saloon Car Championship.

Making his debut at his home circuit of Oulton Park, Luke found himself well off the pace of the frontrunners as he was forced to contend with a myriad of technical issues but that only increased the desire to succeed – with the youngster working hard to fight his way forwards through the field.

On the podium by the mid-way point of the year, Luke would later grab a first career win at Brands Hatch and smashed the lap record at Silverstone as he ended the year inside the top ten in the standings.

Having looked into the options available for the new season, Luke then made the move to the Ginetta Junior Championship for 2017 with the Richardson Racing team, seeing him race on the high-profile support package for the British Touring Car Championship.

Breaking into the top ten in the early stages of the year, Luke grabbed a maiden rookie class podium in his home event and by the end of the season, had secured his first rookie win and also scored his maiden pole position – secured in tricky weather conditions at Silverstone.

Returning to the series for a second season in 2018, Luke was the man to beat in the early part of the year as he grabbed three wins from the opening four races of the year. A further five wins follow with a grand total of 18 podium finishes from 26 starts resulting in an impressive third place championship finish.

Having showcased his talents on track, Luke moved up to single-seaters for 2019 as he switched to British F4 and the season started in astonishing fashion as the Cheshire-based youngster stormed to victory in the first race of the year in tricky weather conditions at Brands Hatch.

A further win at Thruxton helped Luke to end the year sixth in the standings but year two of the British F4 programme would see him firmly in the championship fight having joined leading outfit Fortec Motorsport.

A stunning hat-trick of wins at Oulton Park kick-started his title challenge with Luke only finishing outside the top six twice all season. After a titanic battle with chief rival Zak O’Sullivan that would go right to the wire, Luke ended the campaign with the championship crown having scored the most points-per-race in series history.

Having been nominated for the prestigious BRDC Young Driver of the Year award, Luke turned his focus to the European racing scene in 2021 with a deal to compete in the ADAC F4 series with the US Racing team co-owned by Ralf Schumacher.

Unfazed by the challenge of a new car and unfamiliar circuits, Luke grabbed wins at the Red Bull Ring and Hockenheim to end the year third in the standings and also won on a one-off outing in GB3 at Oulton Park.

Confirmed for a full season in GB3 with Hitech GP in 2022, Luke enjoyed a fine year as he stormed to the championship title and ended the campaign securing the prestigious Aston Martin BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award.

Moving into the FIA F3 arena for 2023, Luke was able to showcase his skills as part of the F1 support package having extended his relationship with Hitech into a second season, ending the year 15th in the points with a podium finish in Spain.

Luke also started work with the Williams F1 team after signing up as part of its Driver Academy programme, and would end the year on a high with a stunning win in the Macau Grand Prix.
